The Forest Patrol Road of the Buddharaksa Community Forest: In Accordance with Section 19 of the National Reserved Forests Act

The construction of a forest patrol road in the Buddharaksa Community Forest, located in the Dong Phaya Yen National Reserved Forest in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, represents more than a physical infrastructure. It symbolizes an integrated approach to forest conservation, religious access, and public service. Authorized under Section 19 of the National Reserved Forests Act B.E. 2507 (Amended B.E. 2562), the road is being developed to support forest patrol missions, wildfire prevention, and facilitate access to monastic sites such as Wat Phu Saeng Thong Piang Fa and Wat Pong Ket. As of July 2025, 385 meters of the planned 1,000-meter reinforced concrete road have been completed. The remaining 615 meters are scheduled for expedited construction. This initiative is part of a broader mission under the “Baworn” integration framework (Home-Temple-Government), with multi-sectoral collaboration including monks, local communities, and state agencies. From July 7–9, 2025, a series of field activities took place to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, including forest protection, aid for persons with disabilities, and vocational training. The patrol road stands as a strategic and spiritual axis that binds together environmental, social, and religious missions embodying the principle of “utilizing the forest without destroying it.”
