The author argues that the overall effectiveness of a literary work, its content consistency, and the emotional impression it evokes in the reader depend on the correct construction of rhythm and development. The article presents theoretical approaches, editing methods, and practical recommendations that are important for the editor. Also, editing experiences on eliminating rhythm disturbances and compositional contradictions are explained through real examples. The article is useful for specialists working in the field of literary editing, writers, and students.
