The Battle Against Fake News How AI Can Save the Day

Fake news has emerged as a significant challenge in the digital era, influencing public opinion, political processes, and societal stability. This paper explores the effectiveness of supervised machine learning classifiers for fake news detection. Using real-world datasets, we evaluate Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forests, and Gradient Boosting. Additionally, multimodal approaches combining text and image analysis are discussed. Results indicate that ensemble methods and multimodal techniques outperform traditional classifiers in accuracy and robustness. This research provides insights into algorithmic effectiveness and practical applications for combating misinformation. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating advanced machine learning methods to tackle the growing threat of fake news dissemination effectively.
