ROLE OF 18F-FLURODEOXYGLUCOSE POSITRON EMISSION TOMOGRAPHY/COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IN THE EVALUATION OF BUCCAL MUCOSAL CANCER
Buccal mucosal cancer, which is a common oral cancer in regions with high rates like Jaipur India, creates big challenges in diagnosing and treating it because it grows fast and shows up late. Standard imaging methods like CT and MRI often struggle to find early-stage tumors hidden nodal metastases, or to separate post-treatment effects from a returning cancer. FDG PET/CT, which combines metabolic and anatomical information, might improve how doctors diagnose it and plan treatments.
