Topological Phase Confinement and Direct Energy Extraction in Fusion-Scale SU(2) Systems
I propose a novel paradigm for nuclear fusion based on SU(2) phase coherence and topological confinement, bypassing the need for extreme thermal or magnetic conditions. In this model, fusion reactions are driven by coherent reconfiguration of phase vortices in a compact SU(2) manifold, enabling both confinement and energy localization through geometry rather than pressure or temperature. I derive the expected resonant energy scales of phase excitations on a compact 3-sphere and show that they align with typical fusion energies for light nuclei. The model further predicts the suppression of plasma instabilities and the emergence of nonthermal emission patterns observed in dense plasma experiments. A feasible laboratory-scale prototype is presented, incorporating phase excitation and detection infrastructure. Energy released via phase-aligned reactions can be extracted directly through pickup circuits, potentially achieving conversion efficiencies exceeding conventional thermodynamic systems. This approach opens a pathway toward compact, scalable, and efficient fusion systems rooted in phase topology. I outline both theoretical foundations and concrete experimental signatures to motivate collaborative validation efforts.
