Dynamic behavior for stenosed channel: An FSI study
Abstract: Developing a reliable fluid-structure interaction (FSI) bio-mechanical model is essential to simulating the behavior of atherosclerotic plaques and predicting their rupture, which could significantly reduce mortality rates associated with cardiovascular diseases. This work introduces a hybrid method that integrates general interpolation material point, lattice Boltzmann, and immersed boundary methods to simulate the dynamic behaviours of a collapsible channel, serving as a simplified bio-mechanical model of blood vessels. The computational results obtained from this simplified geometry provide valuable insights into flow characteristics and stress distribution within stenosed blood arteries Keywords: Lattice Boltzmann Method, Material point method, Stenosis
