Cosmic Information Theory: A Unified Framework for Quantum Theory, Relativity, and Fundamental Interactions

We propose a novel theoretical framework—Cosmic Information Theory—which unifies quantum mechanics and general relativity via an information-driven dynamical mechanism. Central to this theory is the concept of a holographic information threshold, defined as ℐcrit = 𝐴Σ/4ℓ𝑃 2, beyond which quantum superpositions undergo smooth, physically triggered collapse. Unlike traditional interpretations invoking observer consciousness or stochastic postulates, our model attributes wavefunction collapse to an objective, covariant information flux 𝓘(𝒙𝜇), sourced by all fundamental interactions (electromagnetic, weak, strong, gravitational). The collapse process is governed by a differentiable activation function 𝑺(𝓘), ensuring energy conservation and mathematical continuity. We derive the dynamical equations from a covariant variational principle and demonstrate that the theory reduces to known models (e.g., Penrose's gravitational collapse) in specific limits. Furthermore, we provide testable predictions, including species-specific decoherence timescales for ultracold atoms (𝜏coll ∼ 0.7msfor87Rb) and threshold gravitational energy gaps detectable by interferometric observatories (e.g., LIGO). This framework offers a falsifiable, observer-independent path to reconcile quantum foundations with relativistic field dynamics and may pave the way toward a unified theory of nature's fundamental forces.
