FORMATION OF STUDENTS' COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LESSONS

Today, in Azerbaijan, which is developing its comprehensive relations with the countries of the world, there is a great need for the study of foreign languages, primarily English. The main goal of students and pupils studying English in higher and secondary educational institutions of our country is to master their communicative intentions by using this language as a means of communication. It should also be noted that recently, serious reforms have been carried out in the field of teaching foreign languages, including English, in Azerbaijan, which is in the process of integration into the European Education System. The reforms carried out cover the content of education, methods and techniques used in teaching foreign languages, the selection of teaching materials, student-teacher relations in the learning process, the role of the teacher, the use of information and communication technologies and other areas. One of the main tasks set before higher education institutions where English is taught for professional purposes and where the specialty is a foreign language is the preparation of high-level pedagogical personnel who are communicatively competent, perfectly mastered their profession, and meet the requirements of the day. A foreign language teacher who complies with the standards existing in the European Educational Area must be aware of the changes taking place in the field of foreign languages in the world, and must be ready to apply innovative ideas, new, more effective methods and techniques to the practice of teaching foreign languages.
