Bibliographical competencies of specialists working with rare books: modern requirements

The article examines the bibliographic competencies necessary for specialists working with rare books, their structural components. The focus is on the competencies required of professionals responsible for processing and describing rare books and special collections as recommended by IFLA. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop and implement educational programs aimed at training specialists in this field, and the main means of forming bibliographic competence is additional professional education in accordance with the requests of the specialists themselves. Innovative teaching methods are considered.
