LEXICAL AND SEMANTIC PROPERTIES OF PAIRED WORDS IN ENGLISH AND KYRGYZ: A COMPARATIVE LINGUISTIC STUDY
This study delves into the lexical and semantic characteristics of paired words – commonly known as binomials or paired expressions – in English and Kyrgyz. These expressions, integral to both languages, often pose challenges for language learners due to their idiomatic nature and cultural specificity. By examining the structural, cognitive, and pragmatic features of these paired expressions, the research aims to identify similarities and differences between English and Kyrgyz, providing insights into their respective linguistic frameworks. The findings have implications for cross-linguistic semantics, language pedagogy, and the understanding of cultural conceptualizations embedded in language.
