Formulation and Evaluation of Urea-Based Micellar Body Wash Gel for Skin Hydration

The present work is aimed at the formulation and evaluation of a urea-based micellar body wash gel, developed to provide effective cleansing along with moisturizing and skin-soothing benefits. Urea, a wellknown keratolytic and humectant agent, was incorporated into a micellar system to enhance skin hydrationwhile promoting mild cleansing suitable for sensitive skin. A comprehensive literature review wasconducted to support the selection of active ingredients, excipients, solvents, and packaging materials, ensuring formulation compatibility and safety. The prepared formulation was subjected to morphologicalevaluation, assessing parameters such as colour, odour, appearance, and thickness to determine its aestheticand physical characteristics. Physicochemical evaluations including pH, alkali content, and foam heightwere performed to verify its safety for skin and functional performance. The cleaning action test and dirtdispersion test were carried out to examine cleansing efficacy, while the skin irritancy test confirmeddermatological safety. In addition, microbial evaluation ensured the product’s resistance to microbialcontamination, supporting its microbiological stability. The body wash gel was also monitored under roomtemperature storage conditions, with periodic evaluation of pH, colour, odour, thickness, alkali content, andfoam height to assess formulation stability over time.Overall, the urea-based micellar body wash geldemonstrated favorable physical, functional, and dermatological properties, indicating its potential as aneffective and skin-friendly personal care formulation.
