Revolutionizing Law Enforcement: A Multilingual AI-Driven FIR Lodging System for Global Efficiency, Transparency, and Justice Accessibility
This paper presents an AI-driven First Information Report (FIR) lodging system designed to enhance law enforcement efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity in multilingual societies while adhering to ethical AI principles. Utilizing advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP), the system translates and processes FIRs in real-time, overcoming linguistic and bureaucratic barriers that often hinder access to justice (Binns, 2018). Grounded in ethical frameworks inspired by Taoism, Buddhism, and the Bhagavad Gita, the AI system prioritizes fairness, non-discrimination, and accountability in crime reporting (Jobin, Ienca & Vayena, 2019).Pilot studies conducted in India, where linguistic diversity poses significant legal accessibility challenges, evaluate the model’s effectiveness. The system aligns with global AI ethics regulations, including the EU AI Act and GDPR, and draws insights from Estonia’s e-governance and Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative (Floridi, 2019). Beyond improving law enforcement efficiency, the AI solution fosters responsible AI deployment, safeguards research integrity, and creates new employment opportunities in AI ethics auditing, legal tech, and multilingual data annotation (Susskind & Susskind, 2015). This research aligns with the Coalition for the Advancement of Research Assessment (CoARA) principles by promoting responsible AI research and governance in public law enforcement systems.
