Contributions of Digital Library Services on Effective Information Retrieval in Federal University Libraries in Nigeria

AbstractPurpose of the Study: This study investigates the contributions of digital library services to effective information retrieval in federal university libraries in Nigeria. With the rapid advancement of technology, digital libraries have become pivotal in enhancing access to academic resources.Methodology: This research explores the various digital services offered by these libraries, such as online databases, e-books, and digital repositories. It evaluates their impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of information retrieval for students and faculty. Through a combination of surveys, interviews, and usage data analysis, the study identifies key factors that influence the success of digital library services.Findings: The findings highlight the significant role of digital libraries in supporting academicresearch and learning while also addressing challenges such as digital literacy, infrastructure, anduser engagement.Recommendations/Conclusion: The study concludes with recommendations for improving digital library services to further enhance information retrieval in Nigerian federal universities.Study Type: Research paper
