AlzAware: An AI-Based System for Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease Using Multimodal Data and Machine Learning
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative condition where early diagnosis cansignificantly improve patient outcomes. This paper presents a conceptual design of AlzAware, an AIpowered diagnostic aid that leverages speech, facial expressions, cognitive assessments and tests likepuzzles, memory game, and brain scans to detect early signs of Alzheimer’s. While the project is currentlyin the literature review and design phase, we summarize 20 recent machine learning approaches for ADdetection and propose a modular, multimodal system architecture. The goal is to guide patients to timelymedical care and empower clinicians with explainable, data-driven insights.
