Agro Tourism in India
Abstract: Agro-tourism in India is an emerging sector that integrates agriculture with tourism, offering visitors an immersive experience of rural life, farming activities, and local culture. This study explores the potential, challenges, and impact of agro-tourism on rural development, employment generation, and sustainable economic growth. It examines various agro-tourism models across different states, evaluating their socio-economic and environmental effects. The study employs a mixed-method approach, including primary surveys, case studies, and secondary data analysis, to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of agro-tourism as a tool for rural empowerment. The findings suggest that agro-tourism can significantly contribute to rural prosperity by diversifying farmers' income sources, promoting eco-friendly practices, and preserving indigenous traditions. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of policy support, and limited awareness need to be addressed to ensure its sustainable growth.
