The FAIRytale of Base4NFDI - an ignite talk
This Ignite Talk tells the story of open and FAIR science in Germany. It is not unlike a fairytale - full of smart heroes, fierce opponents, tragic and happy circumstances and - at its core - of hope and dedication! Let me take you along on an adventure in the FAIRyland of research data management where we accompany our hero of this story on her scientific quest. Learn about a young initiative - Base4NFDI - which brings together the teams and tools to support our hero and other fellow research FAIRies on their quest for open science. Base4NFDI stands for Basic Services for the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). It is an initiative in Germany dedicated to implementing basic services in research data management across all scientific disciplines. Base4NFDI supports such services with funding, support and guidance. Will our hero persevere? What will happen to FAIRyland? Will Base4NFDI be able to support our hero with the right tools to achieve their goals? There is only one way to find out... This ignite talk was part of the Open Science Festival 2024.
