Effect of Seaweed Extract on growth and yield in Garlic (Allium sativum L)
Abstract Garlic (Allium Sativum L.) is a key vegetable crop grown locally in India. In addition, it is grown for its medicinal properties and flavor. Increasing the yield of garlic and improving bulb quality are important for growers. They are affected by factor that affects plant development and growth. Bio-fertilizers are important for increasing the microorganisms and promoting specific microbial growth in inoculated plants that can change the nutrients available to plants. Biofertilizers, such as seaweed extracts, can induce bacterial impact on the capable host by altering the flora by soil or seed inoculation with some organisms. The impact of various nutrients and strain groups mobilizing microorganisms is the cause of the significant effect of biofertilizers, which improve the levels of extractable minerals. Hence, this study aims to explore the effect of seaweed extract on the growth and yield of garlic. This study was based on secondary data gathered from studies published in peer-reviewed journals. The findings of the current study show that the yield and growth attributes of garlic increased significantly with the soil application of various biostimulants. Yield and growth attributes, such as bulb diameter, leaf length, leaves per plant, chlorophyl in leaves, and plant height can be increased significantly by applying seaweed extract.
