D1.2 – Data Governance and Intellectual Property Rights Handbook
The first iteration of the Data Governance and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Handbook is a key document for the iDriving project, providing crucial guidelines for data and intellectual property management among project partners. This initial version is based on the Grant Agreement (GA), and it establishes a foundation for continuous development, ensuring alignment with the project’s objectives and ethical standards. Future versions will incorporate new insights to enhance the handbook’s effectiveness and compliance with the iDriving project’s goals. This document emphasises the importance of effective practices in ensuring that all partners follow established protocols for data management and intellectual property protection, while fostering collaboration and innovation. It clearly defines responsibilities for data collection, sharing, storage, and usage, aiming to protect proprietary information and enable smooth communication among stakeholders. The handbook further covers the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) within the project, highlighting the legal and ethical considerations involved. This includes adhering to relevant regulations and standards to ensure AI applications align with the project’s goals and respect participants’ rights and privacy. Finally, the document addresses ethical considerations related to human participation in the iDriving project. It outlines best practices for engaging with participants, focusing on informed consent, transparency, and the protection of personal data. By addressing these ethical aspects, the handbook aims to maintain the project’s integrity and foster trust and collaboration among all partners.
