D1.6 Data Management Plan 3

The present deliverable provides an analysis of the main elements of the data management implementation of the project, updating the first MAELSTROM Data Management Plan, following the latest EC guidelines adopted for the Open Research Data Pilot (ORD Pilot). It describes the project policy for data management - i.e.collecting and sharing procedures - including a detailed description of all datasets that have been collected, processed or generated in all Work packages during thecourse of the MAELSTROM project. It contains all guidelines agreed by partners to allow data to be FAIR – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-Usable.In particular, this document updates the first version of the DMP in the following points: a) The MAELSTROM Data Summary, including the list of the project data, has been updated; b) The MAELSTROM Data policy and License Agreement has been drafted (Annex I) and a form, the MAELSTROM Data access request form (Annex II) is now available for the data request; c) The infrastructure used by MAELSTROM for the data management has been set up to meet the FAIR data principles and it is now described in section 7. A specificinternal guide for the Consortium, the MAELSTROM Data Management manual, was prepared to describe the procedure to upload data and metadata (Annex 3). The deliverable has been prepared with the collaborative work among the Coordinator and the Consortium Partners who are involved in data collection, production and processing. The herein described policy reflects the current state of Consortium agreements regarding data management and is consistent with those referring to the exploitation and protection of results. Nevertheless, it can also be considered as a checklist / guideline for future data collection and exploitation activities.
