Stress Management through Physical Activity and Sports

Abstract- Stress is an inevitable part of modern life, affecting individuals both mentally and physically. Effective stress management is crucial for overall well-being, and physical activity and sports have been recognized as powerful tools in mitigating stress. Engaging in regular physical exercise promotes the release of endorphins, known as “feel-good” hormones, which help reduce anxiety, improve mood, and enhance cognitive function. Additionally, sports provide a structured and social outlet for stress relief, fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Various forms of physical activities, including aerobic exercises, yoga, and strength training, contribute to stress reduction by lowering cortisol levels and promoting relaxation. This paper explores the physiological and psychological benefits of sports and physical activity in managing stress, emphasizing the importance of incorporating movement into daily routines. The findings highlight that an active lifestyle not only enhances physical health but also serves as a natural and effective approach to coping with stress, improving overall quality of life
