Adhesiolisis vulvar y estimulación magnética del piso pélvico en liquen escleroso genital: reporte de un caso.

Genital lichen sclerosus (LSG) is an inflammatory pathology that affects women of varying ages, its prevalence is underdiagnosed due to delayed referrals to specialists and misdiagnoses. Clinical assessment and biopsy for histological examination are essential. This case study evaluated the effectiveness of vulvar adhesiolysis and pelvic floor magnetic stimulation in a 68-year-old patient who reported a four-year history of dysuria, dyspareunia, sinus bleeding, grade II prolapse and unsuccessful regenerative therapy; the patient presented with persistent symptoms. Gynecological examination revealed skin fissures, ivory-colored lesions on the labia minora, and other findings. Vulvar adhesiolysis using a 980 nm diode laser was performed, and a vulvar biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of GLS. Six sessions of magnetotherapy were indicated, the procedure was explained and the patient provided informed consent, a continuous weekly treatment plan of 15 to 45 minutes was implemented and followed, with follow-up every 3 months. Histological evaluation before and after therapy showed changes consistent with re-epithelialization and improved skin trophism. The patient showed improvement of pruritus and resolution of burning sensation, with no changes in skin coloration. It was concluded that this magnetotherapy is effective in improving or eliminating itching and burning sensation; it also promotes neovascularization, re-epithelialization and regeneration of the skin.

Genital lichen sclerosus (LSG) is an inflammatory pathology that affects women of varying ages, its prevalence is underdiagnosed due to delayed referrals to specialists and misdiagnoses. Clinical assessment and biopsy for histological examination are essential. The patient showed improvement of pruritus and resolution of burning sensation, with no changes in skin coloration. It was concluded that this magnetotherapy is effective in improving or eliminating itching and burning sensation; it also promotes neovascularization, re-epithelialization and regeneration of the skin.
