Multi-actor approach roadmap for implementing an integrated holistic impact assessment to accelerate Safe and Sustainable Design (SSbD) acceptance in the plastic value chain
This abstract, presented at the SETAC Europe 26th LCA Symposium in Gothenburg, Sweden, aims to outline the objectives of the ANALYST project, which addresses the reduction of plastic pollution and the advancement of a circular economy within the European Union. The project emphasises the development of a collaborative approach to transform the plastic value chain, with a particular focus on Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). It incorporates health, environmental, economic, and social considerations in accordance with the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework. Feedback from stakeholder engagement and pilot tests will inform continuous refinement and the broader application of the SSbD framework within the plastic industry.
