The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Skills and Education: A Roadmap for Future-Ready Learning

AbstractThis paper examines the transformative impact of Artifi cial Intelligence (AI) on the global job market and, consequently, on the requisite skills for future employment. Drawing insights from a Microsoft study on AI applicability in various occupations, this research proposes a strategic roadmap for educational institutions, particularly in the Indian context, to adapt their curricula. We analyze jobs most and least susceptible to AI's infl uence, suggesting shifts in existing courses and proposing new interdisciplinary programs. The paper further discusses the likely impact of AI course implementation on skills at diff erent educational levels, emphasizing the need for human-AI collaboration, ethical considerations, and critical thinking. This study aims to provide guidance for students, educators, and policymakers in navigating the evolving landscape of AI-driven skill demands.
