ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND UPBRINGING AS COMPONENT ELEMENTS OF THE PROCESS OF FORMING NATIONAL PATRIOTISM OF UKRAINIAN YOUTH

Abstract The article is devoted to the issue of environmental education and upbringing as components of the process of forming national patriotism of the youth of Ukraine. It is found that the idea of national-patriotic upbringing has always occupied a special place not only in the spiritual life of society. The ideology of national patriotism is formed from childhood, it manifests itself in respect for the nature of the country, national symbols and basic human rights, in a sense of understanding and tolerance for the culture and values of people of another nation and culture. The article reveals the elements of environmental education and upbringing as the main components of the process of forming national patriotism of the youth of Ukraine as core, fundamental, meeting both the urgent requirements of modernity and laying the foundations for the formation of the consciousness of modern generations, who will consider the development of the state as a guarantee of their own development, which is based on the ideas of national patriotism, love for nature, respect for the cultural values of the Ukrainian people. It is shown that environmental education and upbringing are important components of the process of forming national patriotism, because love and respect for the nature of the native land affects the formation of conscious citizens and patriots of the Ukrainian independent state. The article indicates that environmental education and upbringing, as elements of the process of forming national patriotism of the youth of Ukraine, are relatively new material for research, however, the significance of the formation of an ecological worldview of a citizen of Ukraine is difficult to overestimate, because the future of our state cannot be imagined without adequate means and measures of protecting and preserving of the environment. An attempt has been made to define the concept of the process of formation of national patriotism and its connection with national-patriotic education. The conclusion has been made that through the ideas of ecological education and upbringing it is possible to implement a promising and democratic model of the process of formation of national patriotism of the youth of Ukraine.
