QUANTIFICATION OF CAPECITABINE IN LIPID BASED NANOFORMULATION USING AN OPTIMISED AND VALIDATED REVERSE PHASE HPLC METHOD.
Abstract- Capecitabine, a prodrug of 5-fluorouracil, is widely used in cancer therapy but its accurate determination inlipid-based nano formulations presents analytical challenges. A C18 column and Methanol and Millipore water with0.1% OPA (80:20, v/ v) was used to optimize the reverse phase-HPLC-UV method. Capecitabine was identified at 230nm while keeping the flow rate at 1 mL/minute. The optimised method was validated, which proved to be in compliancewith ICH Q2 (R1) guidelines. The R2 value was found to be 0.998 indicating satisfactory linear plot within the givenrange. Lower Recovery experiments with respectable percentage recoveries confirmed to the method's accuracy. Thenew technique can, hence, be effectively utilised to measure capecitabine loaded lipid-based nano formulations.
