A CASE REPORT ON NEUROMYOTONIA ASSOCIATED WITH MYASTHENIA GRAVIS: ISAACS SYNDROME
This case report details a 38-year-old male presenting with symptomsincluding muscle twitching, cramps, and bilateral ptosis. He wasdiagnosed with neuromyotonia (Isaacs syndrome) alongside myastheniagravis (MG), indicated by the presence of serum acetylcholine receptor(AChR) antibodies. The patient showed significant improvement after a5-day course of intravenous methylprednisolone and phenytoinadministration. This case suggests overlapping pathophysiologicalmechanisms between neuromyotonia and autoimmune myastheniagravis, warranting further research. Keywords: Neuromyotonia, Isaacs syndrome, Myasthenia gravis,Acetylcholine receptor antibodies, Autoimmune disorders, Peripheralnerve hyperexcitability
