VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND ITS CONFRONTATION NETWORKS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO (2017-2022)
The objective of this study is to analyse the implementation of the public policy network to combat violence against women (VAW) in the city of Rio de Janeiro, considering the cycle of domestic violence, intersectionality, and its effects on preventing lethal situations. The methodological outline involves analyzing the database on violence against women based on information from DATASUS and the Public Security Institute for the period 2017 to 2022, considering sociodemographic information from the Pereira Passos Institute Datario. At the same time, we demarcate these records from the context of public facilities by mapping with public agencies, comparing their reach. The results achieved by the research include a high incidence of lethality impacted by the intersectionality of race, gender, and territory and by the operational challenges in federative integration during the implementation of the network to combat violence in the city and the impacts on the prolongation of an intersectional inequality. The limitations are in full access to information regarding material services, since several facilities suffer from integration between different government spheres and little coordination. As a main conclusion, we highlight that the expansion and availability of services in the city of Rio de Janeiro certainly represent a significant advance, but the comparison still relies on non-existent parameters, that is, the analysis of effectiveness depends on the permanence of the network, without the interference of political volatility.
