Study of Some Ionic Composition Of Kolad Dam Water In Roha Taluka, Dist.Raigad, (M.S.), India.
Abstract:- In developing countries like India, a larger proportion of population does not have access of safe water. In this study area, plenty of water sources are available for all type of human activities like drinking, industrialization, agriculture, domestic purpose etc. Kundalika river water is the main source for the supply of drinking water to the people residing in this area. Present investigation was carried out in 2024-25 by taking water samples from two sites near to the Kolad dam situated at the bank of river Kundalika. The water samples collected were analyzed for its physic-chemical properties such as Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium, Chlorides and Sulphates etc. Analysis of all the samples were complied with BIS and WHO standards. It shows that the variation in calcium content was from 72 to 110 mg/l at S1, and 72 to 100 mg/l at S2. The magnesium concentration was found to be in the range of 42 to 82 mg/l at S1, and 40 to 80 at S2 mg/l which increase the amount of ammonical nitrogen and organic matter. This work would be useful to find out remedies and develop strategies that would reduce contamination of water and maintain the quality of water for drinking purposes
