Chrząszcze (Insecta: Coleoptera) projektowanych rezerwatów Sosnowiec i Zakrzów na Wyżynie Lubelskiej / Beetles (Insecta: Coleoptera) of the Sosnowiec and the Zakrzów reserves designed on the Lublin Upland

Lublin Upland in mid-eastern Poland is a predominantly agricultural area, every remaining forest complex being of great value as – among others – refuge for rare beetles. As the result of our research, performed in the years 2017 to 2019 in the two forest reserves – Sosnowiec and Zakrzów – designed in the Wieprz river valley, have resulted in collection and identification of 568 (390 in Sosnowiec and 178 in Zakrzów reserve) coleopteran species. Of them, 197 spp. proved new to Lublin Upland, 23 are included in the red list of threatened or endangered species in Poland, whereas eight are considered relicts of primary forests entomofauna.
