The Entropy Engine: AI-Guided Exploration of the Second Entropic Cascade in Atmospheric Carbon Systems

This paper introduces the first practical application of the entropy-decay framework: a novel class of systems termed Entropy Engines. These devices operate not through combustion, voltage, or redox chemistry, but through the controlled release of entropy stored in structured carbon materials. Guided by AI-informed theoretical modeling, the paper explores how carbon—particularly in forms like CO₂, carbonic acid, and disordered foams—can serve as an entropy reservoir under Earth’s natural decay gradients. When exposed to carefully modulated field conditions (pressure, humidity, temperature, and surface curvature), these materials can enter a Second Entropic Cascade, releasing energy through structural collapse or decay reactivation. The Entropy Engine redefines energy storage and release as a curvature-driven process. It proposes a new class of low-input, field-responsive systems capable of: Entropic charging through structure, On-demand discharge via Second Cascade triggers, Passive and active modes of operation. This paper stands alone as a theoretical and design milestone, but also connects to a broader framework developed in the author's books: The Entropy Decay Universe and Beyond the Standard Model: Entropy, Curvature, and Collapse. Readers seeking the full mathematical and philosophical background are encouraged to explore those works.
