Safarnāma-e Shīrāz

A delegation was sent by the Madarsatul Uloom, Aligarh (now Aligarh Muslim University) to Shiraz, Iran in 1903 for inviting boarders to the college for admission. It was headed by Meer Wilayat Hussain. There are two published travelogues of this delegation; written by Meer WilayatHussain and Syed Jalaluddin Haider. Widely known Haider’s travelogue is available in his book K̲hudnavisht Sawāneḥ’umrī wa Safarnāma published in 1946. This is a hitherto unknown travelogue written by Haider which was published as a series in a magazine in 1912-1914, years before the publication of his book.
