The Impact of Early Experiences in Childhood in Wuthering Heights and The God of Small Things
Max Muller states that ―all higher knowledge is gained by comparison and rests on comparison‖ ( Dhawan, 1987). T.S. Eliot also states in his Tradition and Individual Talent that an artist is important only when he is compared and contrasted with other artists. Comparison of two different authors from two different cultures, countries and different periods resulted in a deeper understanding of the works and their authors. This paper is an attempt to explore the fictional world of two women writers separated by time, place, and culture. Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë and The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy are taken for this paper.
