Role of Technological Innovations in Improving Library Services
This paper elaborates on how technological innovations have led to improved information management and library services. Information technology (IT) and Information Communication Technology (ICT) have changed the information-seeking behaviour of the users and the services being provided by the librarians. Journey from the print phase to the era of Electronics (E) has been discussed. How information needs have been changed from asking for a book or a journal to an article or a topic, with the provision of E-resources has also been discussed. Technological innovation has revolutionized library operations, services, and user engagement. From automated cataloguing to AI-driven search systems, technology has transformed libraries into dynamic hubs of information and learning. This paper explores the evolution, impact, and future directions of technological integration in libraries, emphasizing how it advances accessibility, management, and community services.
