Vulnerable Groups in the Buddharaksa Moral Community
The term “vulnerable group” has often carried a stigma, implying weakness or deficiency. In this article, the author redefines the term with a bold yet compassionate vision: “Vulnerable does not mean weak.It means ‘those at risk of being suppressed or excluded from the rights they deserve.’” With this perspective, the Buddharaksa Moral Community does not see vulnerable individuals as burdens. They are citizens who must be given space to stand equally, especially in communities with diverse ages, genders, social statuses, and cultural backgrounds.
