Precision Agriculture: Robotics and AI for Sustainable Farming

Agriculture is under unprecedented pressure to boost productivity in a sustainable manner due to the world's population expansion, which is predicted to exceed 10 billion people by 2050 [1]. Innovative solutions are desperately needed to increase farm productivity and efficiency, especially in light of the additional problems of diminishing water supplies, changing climatic patterns, and the loss of agricultural land. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a very promising approach that has the ability to transform agriculture practices globally [2]. Modern agriculture, and precision farming in particular, are given new meaning by AI as it develops integrated farm management. Automated monitoring systems, drones, and robots are important elements of agricultural innovation Fig. 1. In order to optimize field management, drones, for example, can be utilized in sites for real-time monitoring by gathering airborne data to evaluate crop health and identify diseases [3].
