Employee Engagement, Work-Life Balance, and Work Stress in IT & ITES Industries
Abstract: This study examines the influence of demographic factors—such as gender, age, marital status, educational qualification, work experience, and city of residence—on employee engagement, work-life balance, and work stress in the IT and ITES sectors of Gujarat. The research uses a descriptive research design with a quantitative approach, employing a self-administered structured questionnaire to gather data from 400 employees across four cities: Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot. No significant differences were found between male and female employees regarding pay and recognition, management support, or organizational justice. Additionally, work experience was found to have a significant relationship with salary and career development opportunities, with more experienced employees earning higher salaries and having better career growth prospects. These findings underscore the importance of considering demographic variables when developing employee engagement strategies in the IT and ITES sectors, with implications for enhancing job satisfaction, work-life balance, and productivity.
