COGNITIVE DIGITAL TWINS AND AUTONOMOUS SCHEDULING SYSTEMS FOR HYPER ADAPTIVE PRODUCTION LINES: A NEXT-GEN CONVERGENCE OF AI, IOT, AND REAL-TIME DECISION MAKING IN SMART MANUFACTURING

The emergence of cognitive digital twins (CDTs) integrated with autonomous scheduling systems is transforming the dynamics of smart manufacturing in Industry 4.0. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and real-time analytics, hyperadaptive production lines are achieving unprecedented levels of efficiency, flexibility, and resilience. This paper explores the convergence of these technologies through a framework that incorporates cyber-physical feedback, predictive intelligence, and self-optimizing operations. A literature review of developments before 2024 is included, followed by a discussion of architecture, implementation strategies, performance metrics, and system evaluation. Visual representations, including flowcharts, tables, and performance charts, are provided to aid comprehension. The paper concludes by addressing ongoing challenges and future research opportunities in scaling and standardizing these innovations.
