SEMANTIC PARALLELISM AND ETHNOLINGUISTIC FACTORS
This article examines the phenomenon of semantic parallelism and its connection to ethnolinguistic factors. Semantic parallelism refers to linguistic units across different languages that convey similar meanings, demonstrating the interplay between linguistic universalism and cultural specificity. The study explores how ethnolinguistic characteristics shape this phenomenon, emphasizing the role of language in reflecting a nation's worldview, traditions, and historical experience. By analyzing phraseological expressions, proverbs, and cognitive structures in various languages, the paper highlights how semantic similarities emerge due to shared human experiences and cultural interactions. Additionally, the research underscores the importance of ethnolinguistic factors such as religion, economic activities, and social structures in shaping linguistic expressions and conceptual frameworks. Understanding semantic parallelism provides valuable insights into linguistic universality, cultural diversity, and the cognitive mechanisms underlying language formation.
