The Ocean BioGeoChemical Observation Pilot - FAIR-EASE poster 2025
One of the main global in-situ observation array of ocean BioGeoChemical (BGC) variables is the Argo array. Its BGC observation mission has gained in maturity but still requires development to achieve a full operational coverage: the OneArgo target. OneArgo must address many challenges, including the rising complexity of the data management. Indeed, Argo is an autonomous observation system, and, as such, the measurements must first be Qualified, Calibrated (if necessary) and Validated (Q.C.V.) to achieve the accuracy needed to resolve scientific questions. Q.C.V. process workflows are variable-dependent and costly (numerous software, numerous sensors types, numerous developing environments, numerous formats). Most operators are specialised in one or two workflows, with a high uptake cost of the Q.C.V. process, which hinder the efficiency and timely delivery of high-quality data.
