ASSESSING RESEARCH DATA SERVICES OF LIBRARIES: TOWARDS STANDARDIZATION AND USER EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT

The study of research data services (RDS) of campus libraries investigates to identify gaps, evaluate user experiences, and propose recommendations for standardization and enhancement of the library services to promote user satisfaction. Convergent parallel design was utilized, a mixed-method approach was employed, combining qualitative data from open ended questions and observations with quantitative data from structured surveys. The components of this study such as informational, data management, and technical services was examined and explored with its quality and scope which were provided by the campus libraries. Moreover, it assesses user perceptions, satisfaction levels, and the consistency of RDS across different CvSU campuses. From the gathered data, findings reveal that significant variations in service components and the impact on user experience and library services standardization are the need to focus to the meet the interchangeable library services improvement. Additionally, it highlighted the need to go beyond improvement of resource integration, technological upgrades, and staff training. With those insights and findings, the study offers deeper recommendations that aims to enhance RDS, promoting consistency, efficiency, and improving overall user satisfaction across the participating campus libraries. Ultimately, the study contributes to the development of a more robust and standardized framework for RDS in academic libraries.
