Arctic Cooperation Consortium (ACC): A Neutrality-Driven Economic and Logistical Framework for the Arctic
As the Arctic emerges as a crucial economic and geopolitical frontier due to climate-induced navigability, a neutral, non-Arctic nation-led framework is necessary to facilitate cooperative engagement without major-power domination. The Arctic Cooperation Consortium (ACC) proposes a Switzerland-led international platform that prioritizes economic efficiency, logistical optimization, and sustainable Arctic trade governance. The ACC will function as a non-aligned economic, trade, and legal hub, leveraging Greenland’s strategic position as a global Arctic logistics center. This paper introduces a novel approach to Arctic cooperation that departs from traditional power-based frameworks, fostering international trade, research, and sustainable economic growth without the influence of military alliances. The ACC’s potential for reshaping economic corridors and Arctic governance is unprecedented and essential for the coming decades. This framework addresses the growing need for a stable, predictable, and equitable system for navigating the Arctic's emerging economic landscape, distinct from existing models that often fall prey to geopolitical tensions and power imbalances.
