DESAFIOS NA DOCÊNCIA DA LÍNGUA ESPANHOLA E A IMPORTÂNCIA DA FORMAÇÃO CONTINUADA
Spanish Teaching in Brazil faces several educational challenges, both from the perspective of teachers and theeducational system. The non-mandatory status of Spanish in the basic curriculum and the lack of updatedresources and materials hinder student’s learning and pose a challenge for teachers. Working conditionsalso reflect the difficulties faced by teachers, whether due to overcrowded classrooms, the scarcity of schoolsoffering Spanish, or the lack of support for teachers to stay updated. Continuous training is essential forthese professionals to significantly develop the teaching and learning of the Spanish language. However, although the LDB guarantees this training, not all teachers can take advantage of it due to structurallimitations. Additionally, the diversity of students, learning styles, and specific needs calls for teacher trainingto be seen not only as a duty but as a right, so that teachers can improve their practices and contribute moreeffectively to student’s development.
