The Dynamics and Implications of Peace Accords with Bandits in Rafi and Shiroro LGAs of Niger State

This study examines the dynamics and implications of peace accords between local communities and bandits in Rafi and Shiroro LGAs of Niger State, Nigeria. Using qualitative data from interviews and secondary sources, the study explores the motivations for these accords, their impact on security, and the challenges of sustaining peace. Findings reveal that while peace accords provide temporary relief, they inadvertently legitimize banditry, perpetuate insecurity, and strain community resources.
