SEISMIC BEHAVIOR OF HIGH-RISE STRUCTURES WITH VISCOUS WALL DAMPERS
This paper presents a comprehensive investigation on Viscous wall dampers “VWDs” as supplemental damping devices for high-rise conventional concrete buildings. A total of seven Far-Field ground motions are used to assess the performance of VWDs in reducing the seismic response of 57- story RC building. Non-linear response time history analysis “NRHA” of a benchmark RC structure with and without the use of the VWDs were performed. The NRHA results show that the displacement response is reduced significantly in structure equipped with VWDs
