Sustainable Water Conservation in IT Era: Challenges and Opportunities.
Abstract: Water conservation is essential for a sustainable future, and Information Technology (IT) is playing a crucial role in improving water management. Technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Big Data, and Smart Irrigation systems help in monitoring water usage, detecting leaks, and optimizing consumption. These innovations provide effective solutions for reducing water waste and ensuring efficient distribution. However, challenges like high implementation costs, cyber security risks, and the need for technical expertise limit widespread adoption. This paper explores the impact of IT in sustainable water conservation, discusses key challenges, and suggests possible solutions to enhance its effectiveness
