PRESERVING HERITAGE THROUGH THE LENS OF SPATIAL ACCESSIBILITY: A TERRITORIAL APPROACH
Contemporary approaches to cultural development and heritage conservation face significant challenges, particularly due to the substantial impact of modern mobility patterns on historical structures. This study conducts an urban territorial accessibility analysis with a dual purpose: to physically safeguard cultural heritage and to enhance the community's connection with cultural assets («BIC»). The research focuses specifically on two cultural landmarks in Manizales: the La Camelia Ropeway Station and the Tower of Herveo. By evaluating the surrounding road infrastructure through the lens of socio-economic variables, this study aims to develop intervention proposals that balance preservation needs with community access.
