TRENDS IN THE USE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES FOR PROFESSIONAL PRIORITY
This paper explores the growing role of foreign languages as a professional asset in the global job market. With increasing globalization and international collaboration, foreign language skills have become a necessity rather than a luxury. The article reviews recent trends, employer expectations, the educational system's response, and policy measures aimed at strengthening multilingual competencies. Using a combination of surveys, interviews, and secondary data, the paper highlights current efforts in Uzbekistan and globally to equip youth with linguistic skills that enhance employability and foster international engagement. Practical strategies for integrating language training into professional development are also proposed. In today’s increasingly interconnected and globalized world, the ability to communicate in foreign languages has become more than just an asset—it is a professional necessity. This paper explores current trends in the use of foreign languages across various professional sectors and highlights how language proficiency can significantly enhance career prospects. Through the analysis of qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys conducted among university students, educators, and professionals in Uzbekistan, the study identifies a growing demand for multilingual skills, particularly in fields such as international trade, tourism, information technology, and education. The role of national policies, especially Uzbekistan’s 'English Speaking Nation' initiative, is also discussed in shaping language learning priorities. Furthermore, the paper suggests innovative strategies for integrating language training into professional development programs, including mobile learning 1014 applications, interdisciplinary curricula, and language exchange communities. Overall, the findings emphasize the transformative role of language learning not only for individual success but also for national development in the context of globalization.
