Innovaciones tecnológicas para mejorar la disponibilidad y acceso de servicios sociosanitarios para personas mayores

Equality in access to social and health services is crucial, especially in rural areas at risk of depopulation, where the lack of resources accentuates inequalities. These areas, inhabited mainly by older people with specific needs, face challenges in ensuring that they remain at home in good health. The IBV is an international reference centre in innovation for older people, specialising in the design and adaptation of technologies, functional assessment in the home and key factors such as usability, acceptability and adherence, essential for the success of innovations. Among the latest projects developed by the IBV and which have included innovative actions that facilitate permanence in rural areas, the IMPULS project stands out as well as the ROSIA. These two projects are example of the contribution that the IBV is making to current trends to extend medicine beyond the walls of the hospital or health centres. Rural or hard-to-reach areas become the main focus for piloting and testing these new solutions, since it is in these environments where these projects acquire greater relevance and utility.
