INTRA NASAL IN-SITU DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM: A REVOLUTIONARY GATEWAY TO TARGATED THERAPEUTICS
AbstractThe most common method of administering drugs orally to the body is the oral route. Thispreferred method is not without its drawbacks, though, such as poor bioavailability, difficultieswith drug absorption, first-pass hepatic metabolism, and the requirement for precise medicationtargeting to particular organs. Many alternative systems have been created in response to theselimitations within the last 20 years. When compared to oral administrations, they offer a number ofbenefits. The nasal and intranasal routes of medication delivery are thought to be more promising than theoral and parenteral routes because they reduce the drawbacks associated with them. It is the onlymedication delivery method that can actually get the active medication into the brain. It has beendiscovered that using the intranasal approach to distribute medication is more beneficial for treatingbrain-related diseases. Because of its vast surface area, this delivery device is easy to use, practical, and improves patient compliance even at low medication concentrations and dosages. Thus, theintra nasal in-situ gel system is the primary topic of this review.
