AI-Driven Nanorobotics in Drug Delivery: The Next Frontier in Targeted Therapeutics

This nifty synergy between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and nanorobotics is changing the entire perspective on drug delivery to high precision, selectivity, and personalization. Conventional drug delivery is mostly ineffective to its full ability because of poor bioavailability, non-specific drug distribution, and systemic side effects. In contrast, these AI-powered nanorobots are considered able to develop applications of the AI-powered autonomous maneuvering in extremely complicated biological environments within the specific target site or cell and user-triggered drug release according to real-time physiological phytometrics. This review captures the progress of nanorobotics in medicine, the role of AI in enhancing drug delivery systems, and the mechanisms through which AI-driven nanorobots may overcome the existing challenges regarding precision medicine. Artificial intelligence is being used in algorithms for drug design; site-specific targeting mechanisms; controlled drug release; and current clinical research concerning the same. Included in this review are also the emerging opportunities for future research that address the technical, regulatory, and ethical challenges related to AI in nanomedicine. Therefore, this review ends by discussing how AI-based nanorobotics can transform drug delivery for better patient outcomes and the future of smart nanomedicine.
